The previous articles were the “why” aspect of the business; this is the “how”. These are the exact methods that I use to help me build a business with several income streams. This is how I became an internet marketing millionaire.
Note: These results are not typical. I worked very hard, gave up sleep, time with my family and more to get to where I am today. I made mistakes – big and small. I kept going anyway, long after others thought I was out of my mind. That is how I persevered.
I want to break down a couple of things I started to learn way back in 2008 when I first started to see how internet marketing worked.
I sell nutritional services, products on Amazon, digital products and more. I could not sell any of these things without a website. More specifically:
1) Lead Capture
(I use a variety of things but if you want to go custom I would use this)
Depending on what you are doing and what your budget is, the main thing is to get it up quick and capture leads from traffic you push to it.
This is a page where you have a video, or text telling them about a product or service that will help them. You create a box that captures their email address. They can put their email address in there and you can start contacting them. Entice them by offering a free ebook, an informational video or other bonuses.
Oh.. if you are marketing to the mobile crowd (say twitter, instagram, pinterest, facebook…) you will want to make sure your leadcapture page mobile ready.
Here is a Video Tutorial on how to make your leadcapture pages mobile friendly -> Watch Video on Mobile Website Landing Page
2) Autoresponder
(I currently am using about 4 different ones… about to add a 5 for some testing. The one I would recommend anyone with less than 10,000 leads/prospects is Aweber)
- For my customers database I use this one -> iContact (it allows for single opt in uploads)
- For specific funnels I also use this one -> GetResponse (similar in tasks as Aweber)
I recommend aweber mainly because of deliverability on a small scale under 10k members, segmentation, broadcasts, and followups.
The price and features are about on par with many and easier to use than most.
Emails are automatically sent to people who wanted to see more information from them. You must first write the emails. The autoresponder stores them and sends them out to people, no matter when they sign up to your list. These save you a lot of time, and are far more professional than just batching emails and sending them out in bulk.
3) Affiliate Offer
Short definition – selling someone else's product or service.
This is where you market someone else's product or service. Let's use the real estate analogy again. The realtor did not build the house, nor did they buy the house to resell it. They connect a buyer and a seller. When someone buys the house, the realtor makes a commission.
There are thousands of products that have affiliate programs and there are more added every day. Even major retailers like Best Buy and Amazon have affiliate programs.
The offer needs to be something you can retail and pays you a large percentage to you (up front and through monthly rebills) or have the ability to leverage a large sales organization. Eventually when you are cash positive and pumping you can then start incorporating more offers.
This to me is the biggest gap. Proper education + a good paying affiliate offer that has “leverage”.
Many affiliates burn out cause they must reproduce NEW sales every month. They have no “Leverage”.
So look for duplication, or high front end commissions to compensate for your time spent.
My favorite affiliate offer right now is $37/year and it's paying me thousands right now.
(click here to see my top offer)
4) Blog
This is a website that is an online journal. Instead of a website that never changes, it is updated. They are very easy to use. The hardest thing about blogging can be knowing what to blog about or blogging consistently. Google loves to send traffic to blogs because they people love to keep coming back to blogs.
Note: If you want to sell something, a free blog is not recommended. They are restrictive in what you can put on them. They can take your posts down or worse, shut down your entire website.
I have about 10 blogs and in it's prime near 50. Many are wordpress.org sites and a couple blogger.com and tumblr sites. The main thing I want you to understand is… if you plan to make money online and sell affiliate products you will want to use a platform that is friendly to affiliates.
I do NOT recommend blogger.com and wordpress.com if you plan to do any type of affiliate marketing. They tend to not like those who want to monetize things outside of adsense.
More to come…. see below for the other videos if you have missed them and by all mean… make sure to GROW each day… regardless if you are monetizing yet.
Below are some of our popular services (for a list of all content marketing services click here)
5. SEO – This is search engine optimization. Basically, it is a web page, blog post or other online page that is customized for search engines to categorize it properly. The better it can be categorized, the more likely it will appear at the top of the list in Google, Yahoo or Bing. This means more traffic for your website, and a higher likelihood someone will buy from you. There is more to it than that, but you have a basic understanding of what it is.
Here are a couple SEO services we can help you on (all SEO services)

That really helped on seeing how the pieces fit together. Starting to see the overview of the big picture. Makes sense.
Milena · October 19, 2014 at 8:37 pm
I feel like I can learn the technicality of the process. But how do you come up with ideas for daily blogging? Hmmm…training seems to be in the plans!
Jenny Ceballos · September 21, 2014 at 9:36 pm
Here is where all the others videos have more sense!
The real part of the business like every entrepreneurship at the begining is the hard work and organizational time that we have to invest to make it worth and to build the trust of followers.
John Whitfield · September 14, 2014 at 6:35 pm
This is a great way to keep up with everything. Especially, if you can make some money doing it as well. The biggest thing for me is that having all these things can start adding up in cost, and make it harder and easier at the same time to with them.
In the long run though I agree that this is and can be one of the greatest packages to use to market and make money online.
razan · September 5, 2014 at 2:19 am
yes this is a great way to start

LT
I understand the importance of being an empower network affiliate. Also using the lead capture feature and how critical your blog is for success. However, what I really need to learn is SEO. That will be my main focus since if done correctly it can transform your business and put up numbers.
Lawrence Tam · August 12, 2014 at 6:26 pm
all traffic on it’s own is AWESOME..
It’s how you build, and why you want to use them.. they all have pro/cons
Javier Mason · July 21, 2014 at 6:43 am
Great content. Thank you for that.
Lawrence Tam · July 21, 2014 at 9:59 am
thanks for taking the time to go through them and commenting… make sure to apply it to your business asap
Demy Watts · July 16, 2014 at 4:53 pm
Great info, Lawrence! I’m new to EN, I have aweber set up as well as my lead capture page. Need to actually start blogging but was stuck with ideas of what to blog about. I have my target market so should I blog to my target market and hopefully I will provide a solution to them via EN products I own? Just not sure on this part. Also need to get to grips with SEO as all new to me. Thanks
Lawrence Tam · August 12, 2014 at 7:26 pm
First would be to look at successful people in the niche and how they write and engage.
then start looking at keyword research as ALL articles come down to what the TOPIC is
Peter de Vera · July 12, 2014 at 5:28 pm
Dear Lawrence,
You tell it like it is without it being hard at all. Success can come easy and all we have to do is apply your knowledge and experience. You are a true master modern day Bruce Lee!
More power to you!
Peter
Lawrence Tam · August 12, 2014 at 7:27 pm
hahaha… thanks man…
It’s like riding a bike… you get on… fall off.. get back on and get better at it. It’s a process you learn.
Kenny Wilkinson · July 9, 2014 at 3:32 pm
I understand all of this technically as that’s my background. I need to focus on learning more about the proper content and marketing and less on the technical side of things.
I find myself getting bogged down into too much customization and wasting my time there. That’s where I must improve.
Andre Kotze · July 6, 2014 at 10:30 pm
This video has really good content and explains some of the “tools” we can use to provide solutions to the market we are in.
Is there a simple better keyword tool than Google’s?
Lawrence Tam · July 7, 2014 at 11:22 am
keeping the playing field level with tools 😉
Lawrence Tam · July 8, 2014 at 11:57 am
google is the main source. I would start there for FREE
google suggest and keyword planner both are google’s tools
Elvira Longoria · July 5, 2014 at 1:24 am
I have 4 of these 5 items ready to go. I just had not understood SEO so I had not been blogging as I should. I now understand how blogging about whatever you decide to write content about will help in getting people to your website even though it is not about EN products. I guess once you have built an email list of say like you, from your vacuum cleaner prospects, then you can market EN products to them and that won’t be considered spamming. Am I grasping this correctly. If not I am so eager to learn anything and everything you have to offer and thank God, I have the time now that I did not have before I retired, when I was working full time. Thank you again for all this coaching LT.
Lawrence Tam · July 5, 2014 at 11:51 am
i don’t necessarily bring in vacuum sales to En.. it’s more about how do you want to monetize?
Is it banners on a site that sells vacuum cleaners? I use the newsletter as a way to educate and help home business owners and as I help them I introduce to them what I do with EN and how it’s helped me build my online business.
Joel Gomez · June 6, 2014 at 3:42 am
I have my capture pages ready, getresponse & an affiliate offer. I need to setup my blog & get into blogging..
Kamal lakhr · June 4, 2014 at 5:59 am
Love that
all we need is traffic leads and conversion 😀
but to master and understand well every part of that process
Take time some will e taking by learning other by experience ^^
i’m i right Lawrence ^^?
eric · June 1, 2014 at 8:17 am
Valuable information. However, I have some questions after watching this video.
1. Do you need to have different or separate blog for selling different product?
2. Same question for autoresponder, do you need a separate autoresponder for capturing different niche customers?
karen · May 29, 2014 at 3:35 pm
value,value value.love it.
Martin · May 24, 2014 at 7:13 am
I have worked with those tools in the past. I need to get back into SEO and create content more often, do you have a training on how you organize and create content on a daily basis. I have been a bit discouraged with SEO in the past because google changes their algorithm all the time. I need to brush up on my SEO skills.
Rigoberto Ramirez · April 28, 2014 at 2:47 am
I took these note and am ready to start implementing some of these strategies you mentioned. I don’t know the whole science of them, but it’s good to start. It’s better to have ignorance on fire, than knowledge on ice
WOOHOO!
Lawrence Tam · April 28, 2014 at 8:43 am
if the “WHY” is clear the “HOW” will appeard
PeterThankgod · March 4, 2014 at 8:56 am
I really appreciate your stuffs to make one know the basis of marketing online…Thank you
andilerner · January 7, 2014 at 6:34 pm
Yes. All of this. I’m all-in with EN products, but haven’t been blogging. I have a list of @500, but not doing a good job with follow-up. I have Aweber with autoresponder, but feeling like the AR is a bit stale. My biggest obstacle is a serious lack of self-confidence. Listening to audios & reading personal development stuff, which I do daily – religiously – helps. My marketing is inconsistent – key word – seeing a pattern here? I know this system works – I need to stop stalling & just do it.
Thanks again for stimulating my thought process with these vids.

@Graham 2013 will be released in miami.. my total earnings will be on a new check presented in Miami 2013… for the full amount
spooon · December 23, 2013 at 8:40 pm
Jaynae use EN first… get good… at least it’s automatically there 😉
spooon · December 23, 2013 at 8:40 pm
AustinHayes i build a couple… main issue is people STUCK in building just one…. use EN first to get going
AustinHayes · December 17, 2013 at 10:03 pm
The blog is SEVERELY! underrated!….you can get alot of traffic from a blog, if you SEO right…I am still working on it and how to SEO but, EN blog pretty much does it for ya….
Jaynae · December 16, 2013 at 6:22 am
I totally agree with all that you are saying. I am currently using EN capture page. Are you saying I should get my own?
Graham · December 14, 2013 at 1:59 am
Lawrence, I noted the check you are standing with is dated sometime in 2012…. how has 2013 been for you? and is empower still growing? My feeling is it has quietened down now and everyone has possibly moved on to something else… is it a good option for the long haul…. like years to come?
Ricardo Santiago (BIM Latino) · December 11, 2013 at 5:58 am
Great Lessons! 🙂
MichaelMartinLive · October 16, 2013 at 3:49 pm
Lawrence, you recommend Aweber for less than 10k subscribers. What about over 10k?
Lawrence Tam · October 16, 2013 at 4:04 pm
once you get bigger… you might want to start splitting them up dude to cost, and avoidance of shutdown…
I use Getresponse, GVO, …. couple others i’m testing.
ALWAYS BACKUP your subscribers
